Not that I’m sure people are terribly interested in my opinion, but I wanted to clarify, I’m fairly certain that Nadia is being assaulted by the fabric of her dark imaginings right now, with such intensity that the very earth she stands on cannot contain it, and that Mr. Bones is standing back with a somewhat vindicated “Y’know I TOLD you…” satisfaction. That having been said I’m sure Nadia’s soon to find what she needs to begin to turn the tables, if only to render her escape and nothing more. Perhaps her chapeau, or perhaps something from within. There’s my clarification from my earlier Neo-esque “WHOA” moment.

I dunno. The situation to me from Bones’ perspective screams: This is something that is supposed to happen but I’m not sure exactly what will happen. It’s kinda like: “Choose the form of the destructor!” The fact that something big is about to happen is given, but exactly what is going to happen is unknown. Bones has been here before. He incited this reaction. His game plan is to watch and see and be ready for what comes.

Personally, I think that we are going to see Nadia’s solution to the problem of Mr Bones taking the nightmares from her and turning them into tangible monsters. The question is: is she going to conjure hate and destruction to counter his hate and destruction? I think that’s what he wants. I think as we saw earlier with the battleship game, her ‘ammunition’ was always unexpectedly beautiful and led to magical, and eventually useful results.

Besides, we need some more bright colors in the comic again.

Hmmm. The force/lightning bolt as drawn is aimed at Nadia, but it *isn’t* coming from Mr. Bones. Check out the second panel — the yellow is in the background.

On the other hand, I see Mr. Bones face as being grim and determined which would indicated to me that he is, as Sam4books says, responsible for the action. It might be a direct connection to the force that ripped up through the floor of the Underside in the previous page, in which case we could still get a pleasant surprise as she absorbs the force and creates with it. I’m still holding out for an instantiation of the drawing I have referenced previously.

Yea, somehow the expression Mr Bones is giving seems like surprise or a ‘What the?’ moment, like he wasn’t expecting THIS reaction and even he isn’t sure whats going to happen next.
