I’ve discovered Kukuburi only recently, and I’m captivated. It really shouldn’t be my kind of thing (I’m too old to appreciate piercings, for example) but I’m still captivated.
Not only do I love the art, but I really want to see how it all comes out.
If you don’t mind my asking, how do you do the art for this? On the computer, or is it some traditional medium?
Hey Ramon great update ive decided to make use of my bebo page by giving a review for and linking to stuff i like. http://www.bebo.com/joshdeighan how does free publicity sound XD, also if youd rather i take it down just say kk peace.
james, in regards to your query i draw and ink kukuburi by hand. the inking is done using staedler pigment liners or pitt pens. i then scan in the work, and colour using photoshop. once i’m done colouring i move the page over to illustrator to do the lettering and and sound fx.
each page from concept to finish takes me anywhere from 6-10 hours, or more, as i’m a really bad judge of time…
thanks for the comments, ramo’n. i’m really stoked on this fantastic comic you have here. looks like a lot of fun to draw :) i’ll just sit and ‘absorb’ some of these pages for ages
Wow, i did not know you worked hmm traditional style on the inking. the completed page is truly amazing. If you plan on publishing it, be sure to ship 2 books to México! heheh
once again, great job, really adding suspense
yay, first post!

I’m also interested in your process. how much of the drawing is pen-and-ink?
