not saying you didn’t have me from the gate, but the flying whales made the frosted side of the miniwheat of my soul dance with glee. I think I might love you.
I mean… um..yeah…great artwork and a good beginning.
I have to say, I’ve been a big fan of your work Ramón for awhile now. I randomly stumbled upon Butternutsquash, which I fell in love with. My mind was then blown when I realized that I’d seen your work before… much scrambling through my Rifts books confirmed my hunch.
Kukuburi is looking great, and I’ve got it bookmarked… the only problem is that I’m checking back every day in anticipation of new pages. Keep up the good work (and do more Alpha Flight sketches :D – though I can imagine you barely have time to breathe these days.)
This comic just got really trippy…love where it’s going. Have you ever read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? Those whales are seriously out of their natural element. All this frame needs is a potted plant.
newest page takes you to the first page of the most current update. in week one i posted the first six pages, the following week i posted four, hence why newest page went to page seven.
this week i will be posting two pages; 11 & 12, the newest page will take you to page 11.
im just reading through it a second time while i wait for the update. I didnt notice before how the background was all blue and grey up til now. nice touch!
ooo…
now we’re getting somewhere…
your not gonna update 4 pages every week are you?! well i hope you do, but i would imagine it being a fair load to do.
Just WOW.
Amazing. brain shutting down because artwork and story so awesome.
heh thanks sam and chris!
the updates are going to consist of twopages from this point on.
when i saw this page i went oooooooh. its that good. cant wait till the next one.
…diggin’ the sea otters ‘n’ galavanting humpbacks….tres trippy…
i got some serious moebius vibe from this one…
great stuff, man.

i see a few familiar faces in the crowd! a thanks with the tip of the hat to kozy, and a sweet hello to tangerine!
glad you’re all enjoying my new endeavour!
I want a self-bubbling bubble blower.

Are those… are those flying blue otters? Awesome. I want one. I want five!

ramoncito, you just got bookmarked bro. keep it up
How come Newest Page take me to Seven when there is a Ten?

hope that’s not too confusing :)
Nice work Ramone, counting the days…
seriously, ramon , this KICKS. gorgeous.
Nope not to confusing, I get it now….uhhhmmmm I think :D
thanks stamperoo!
… and tom, i hope i don’t dissapoint.
wow. i’ll be reading this one!
Aoh my.
This gave me shivers of aesthetic pleasure when I saw it, and it’s not a manner of speech.
I’ve been following butternutsquash avidly for a year or two, now…
Superb new gig. The cut-out, angles, rythm of narration, amazing style, the movement and slickness of the ink strokes– grand. I’m awed.
YAY. More Ramon art to read. Looks outstanding!
Man, gotta find me that gate. I too need a pod of flying blue see otters. And an orange flying whale to take me to work.
Also love the little purple cephalopod dude with the floating bowler hat and bubble pipe is cool.
Good stuff Ramon, you never fail to impress!!

This is good stuff, what major comic publisher would let you do this? Web comics are a beautiful form of storytelling and this proves it.
Thanks for drawing that. It saved my day, maybe even my week, but I cant say for sure until the week is over ;)
please keep up the good work!
ABSOLUTELY TRIPPY.
i will be back for more
Wow. The floating bits of land, the whales, the otters, and then … and then… soap bubbles. This was just perfect. Wow.
im just reading through it a second time while i wait for the update. I didnt notice before how the background was all blue and grey up til now. nice touch!
I’m reminded of the Philémon series by “Fred”.
[...] Cat’s comment reminded of where I’ve seen flying whales before, Kukuburi! It is a strange comic, but very well [...]
Is it a Miyazaki tribute? :D
yes!
This is awesome. I’d love the blue otters and orange whales on a poster…
I just started reading Scary Go Round, and am noticing striking similarities:

Interesting.
wow i know i’m really late haha but I just discovered you ramone and I can honestly say I instantly fell in love with both BNS and Kukuburi :)
OTTERS!!!
I LOVE the Blue Sky Weasles!
ok, not weasles.
Otters are an icon of happiness and humpbacks are freedom and song.
OK
Floating islands? It’s Lode Runner 2 all over again! Great job on the surrealism!
nice flying otters, this is my new back ground.
……wait a minute….Otters Aren’t BLUE!!
GOSH!
That’s really quite good.
sky otters!!!!
i want one!!!
Liking :)
And I did not see this coming :o
