apologies on the delay on this weeks update. 

the art was done yesterday morning but i’ve been fiddling with the dialogue over the course of the past day and a bit between my workload. i can’t say i’m completely satisfied with it, so i’ll possibly tweak it again at some point. but i wanted to give you kind folks something to read, you’ve been patient enough.

i’ve been mulling over the donation drive and i think i’m going to execute it come the new year. i would like to have incentive for different donation increments and i’ll need a little time to produce that, plus my schedule before christmas rolls in is pretty psychotic as most publishers are racing to beat printer deadlines before the holidays roll in. so once that chaos is pushed aside i’ll be able to focus a little better.

many of you have been donating already which is great! thank you. i’m keeping a tally so if your donations match an increment i will send you some magic. i think i’m going to try to have something for every $25 increment. we’ll see…

due to the chaos mentioned above combined with a business trip i’m going to have to relegate next week to a cast update and then return the following week with story.

UPDATE: i couldn’t do it. it’s 12:52am on wednesday morning. the colouring on the pages is almost done just an hour or two more worth of work, then the lettering. but i am dead tired and i have a meeting at 9am… so i have to go. i will upload the pages tomorrow afternoon sometime…

i would like to thank you all for supporting the idea of a ‘donation drive’ and to thank those who already have generously donated to the, dare i say, cause.

i am going to launch the ‘drive’ most likely in late november or december with a focus to use the funds to create a window of opportunity to work fully on kukuburi in january. start the new year off on a positive foot i say! i will most likely use a paypal method of donation or might look into alternative means. a simple dollar will suffice or more as people generosity or pocketbooks merit. i plan to create a special original pinup, most likely watercolour, for the occasion and will make it available in limited edition and perhaps put the original up for auction as part of the drive. time will tell.

now for the flipside of the news.

some of you emailed me with a concern with yesterday’s lack of an update. tuesday started of on the right foot and everything was going quite nicely but part way through the day things landed on the wrong foot and soured me for the rest of the day and left me a bit unfocussed to work on kuku. things have been taken care of but this weeks update is going to be one of the cast section with a look at cecil and corky. i figure i spoiled you with three pages last week

however to people’s dismay it is going to be cast updates for the next two weeks. i’m missing one for personal reasons and one for professional reasons. but all will be back to full speed on 18th. though the cast updates aren’t understandably the comic they do lend tiny insights into the world of kukuburi. my apologies i hope you all understand.

in the comments section of the news post the other day it was mentioned that the sporadic updates are losing the flow of the story for the readers. i whole heartedly agree and i apologize for the sporadic schedule. too many things to juggle right now. 

the remainder of “chapter one” of kukuburi is plotted and will run till page 150 or thereabouts. i would like to put the remainder up sans disruption. but this is going to take a little more time than i have. i have monthly overhead that has to be met, so unfortunately of late paying work has taken precedence. though, let me tell you how i wish i could just devote my days, weeks and years to kukuburi as well as the many other personal projects that percolate in my subconscious…

so i have an idea that i would like to run by you my fellow readers. i would like to plan ahead and devote either december or january, the whole month to sitting down and doing kuku, wrapping it up and handing it to you to enjoy. to do this i was thinking of doing a donation drive of some sort. a dollar drive, with incentives of original art or prints for higher donations, created ahead of time of course. if i can raise enough to cover a month of expenses i will be set and things can get done…

some of you may notice that this page is numbered 104, and the previous page 102… have i lost my mind? erm, not yet. i wanted to get this week’s update up and continue the flow of the story. page 103 is what i like to call a page beat, not necessary for the story, but for the rhythm.

i am working on pg 103 right now, and will post it shortly, but in the meantime enjoy pages 104 & 105…
