April 2nd, 2008 at 10:26 pm
SOOOOO, I the onion/mushroom thingies are GOOD, they saved her from falling backwards from the bad monster guy’s hypnotizing stare! Hmmmmm……

SOOOOO, I the onion/mushroom thingies are GOOD, they saved her from falling backwards from the bad monster guy’s hypnotizing stare! Hmmmmm…… and the big bad monster dog things had it all planned from the get go!
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:27 pm
ooops…
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:31 pm
methinks she gots some magical powers. who wouldn’t want to be able to talk to plants?
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:38 pm
I fell off a rock face in a kind of similar manner, once, minus the tentacle shroomions. I can’t remember if I made a “bok” when I hit the ground or not. I’m leaning towards yes.
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:38 pm
I don’t know…why would the “dog monster” hypnotize her? I don’t think it was him that put her in a trance, cuz he was trying to bite her.
Maybe the plant things tongues had that effect on her as a way to help her out. That’s a long shot, oh well we’ll see!
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:59 pm
No way! Pink mushroom bite is poisonous and lizard-dogs are bad but not hypnotizy. Any minute now Mr Bolder-Bottom McLongarms is gonna show and when we see his face a chapeau shall be upon his Nad savin head!
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:05 pm
I dunno guys, I thought it was pretty obvious that the mushroom things are what made her kind of pass out. I don’t think anything is *intentionally* helping her here…but thank goodness, all the same! Being poisoned and dangled upside down over a cliff edge is an improvement over suddenly being about a foot shorter.
However, things are still looking pretty grim…both monster-doggies are still around, and she’s possibly unconscious, so either she uses some of that power she has invountarily to get out at the last second, or something else lends her a hand.
But who knows!
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Woops…typo in my comment. Should say “involuntarily”, not invountarily.
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:22 pm
yeah, i think the mushrooms caused that, not lizardy hypnosis lol
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:23 pm
Thanks goodness for strong mushrooms/radishes! I’m thinking the nasty knock on the head is what knocked her out myself… very interesting indeed!
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:25 pm
There is something about the way you drew her arm and her hand that is really inspiring. I love that you’ve managed to create a feminine character that has hands that are full texture and interest. It has a cool appealing variation that I find really appealing. Thanks for passing on a grain of creativity.
There is so much more to be said, but it just really caught my eye. I hope your work load lightens a little after all of the nonsense you had to deal with this last couple of weeks.
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:32 pm
I thought the red glow in Nadia’s eyes were some kind of latent power she has with this place, and the shroomions (haha, that’s awesome) reacted to Nadia’s power? maybe whatever’s in the box will bring everything to fruition?
still, Ramon, well done with the amazing strip and I hope your deadlines weren’t too stressful mate!
April 3rd, 2008 at 12:16 am
I reckon she’s gonna trip out and something will come save her while it’s happening. Although it’ll want to come quick with that monster hanging round below her.
Again though excellent work with the strip always a joy to come read ^_^
April 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 am
I thought it was pretty obvious that:
a) the mushrooms aren’t just wrapping around her ankle (see the first panel on 70)
b) the dog-lizards are _not_ her friends (the second one tried clearly tried to sample her in the first panel of 72)
c) the red glow in her eyes is caused by the mushrooms, as it doesn’t show up until the second panel of 71 (I thought it was the first panel, but comparing her eyes in 72 to that panel says that they’re still her natural color right then), which is when she first started to feel the affects of whatever got injected into her in 70.
The only thing I’m really left wondering is if that first dog-lizard is close enough to where she’s hanging that it’ll be able to reach her from that spike of rock that it’s hanging on. LIkely if it’s not, i’ll try to jump onto her.
April 3rd, 2008 at 2:13 am
Let’s see —
Nadia falls back. unconscious, poisoned by the stinger-shrooms, as the lizard-dog attempts to sample her. She is kept from falling by the firm grip of the stinger-shrooms and bangs her head, hard on the face of the cliff. This means that the stinger-shrooms are still poisoning her as she hangs there, possibly also injecting digestive enzymes as well.
We need a hero. The boulder-thingy is possible, or the battle-whale, but I am still holding out for Reggie being the hero of the day. Just speculatin’.
April 3rd, 2008 at 3:47 am
But… but… HEY, NO FAIR!!!
they was supposed to lick her face, not try to eat it…. o__Ő
April 3rd, 2008 at 3:49 am
nice! o.o
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:17 am
See, this is where webcomics shine for me.
The fact that I had to scroll that first vertical panel down to reveal the second beastie waiting for her below was an unexpected delight. I could actually hear that thing breathing.
Won’t be quite the same in print.
April 3rd, 2008 at 6:47 am
Bad doggies! Running around snapping at nice folk like that… no treats for you!
I guess holding out for my idea of cute being nice wasn’t really much of an option from the get-go. Looking forward to seeing where this all goes now, because between the hyenasaurs and the Lovecraft magic-mushrooms it’s looking kinda dire right now.
April 3rd, 2008 at 7:24 am
You are an evil-evil man. If they gave out awards for cliff-hangers, you’d have all of ‘em.
April 3rd, 2008 at 9:19 am
I gotta go with Purple Dave’s explanation - And while I don’t think the Dogs are friendly - I think she’d have been better off trying her luck with them, rather then the mind/soul sucking mushroom plants.
April 3rd, 2008 at 9:58 am
Am I the only one that noticed that there is now a Shroomion reaching out its tounge towards the ghostbusters doggie thing in panel 71?
April 3rd, 2008 at 11:55 am
Who the hell is going to save her!? And where are they!?
April 3rd, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Shroomions Save the Day!
Opposed to my previous comments, I admit that the Dogosaurs (yay new word!) are _definitely_ evil, at least as of now.
April 3rd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
I love your work =)
April 3rd, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Maybe these hypnotic lizards are related to the Hypnotoad? ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!
http://r33b.net/
April 3rd, 2008 at 7:08 pm
No no no no… it’s the dogosaurus’ **BREATH** that’s making her feel woozy
April 3rd, 2008 at 7:40 pm
OUCH..that might leave a mark !!!
April 4th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Wow…. talk about terminal halitosis….
April 4th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I think that people under estimate Ramon. The world that Nadia finds herself in is truly a dangerous one. The dog-lizards are NOT puppies. The shroomies are NOT friendly. The skeleton dude has already murdered twice (the giraffe and the bluebird) and has attempted to kill Nadia. In fact, Nadia is probably lucky he still thinks she is dead or he would come down to where she is and finish the job.
Ramon’s graphic style belies the dangerousness of this world. I suppose if he had chosen a more realistic and darker style that would have signaled to readers to take the dangerous creatures here a little more seriously. That’s his choice and I think he is doing a great job at a difficult assignment. Think about it. His style is clean and simple yet his subject matter is really quite dark. That’s a fine line to walk. So far he’s done an excellent job.
April 4th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Err…. is it just me, or does it seem like the sting from the plants is what’s made her pass out, and not the doggie? The plants aren’t helping, her, they’re hunting. They just happened to make her fall backwards in time to avoid being eaten.
April 4th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Ah. Apparently it isn’t just me. I really should read the other comments before posting…
April 4th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
patience. Smatience.
I’m hooked. Take your time. Earn a living. I’ll check in regularly and see it when ya post it.
We’re so in the same boat. I understand completely.
Oh, and I’ll buy it when you sell it.
April 4th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
uh oh… being unconsious with two lizard dogs trying to eat her and those viny plants injecting her with stuff just can’t be good
April 4th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
Yo this is my first comment on this comment…..eh commic, and id like to thank Ramon for all the time he spends churning out this decadent visual orgy each week lol, so yeh thanks very much dude.
secondly doods me’thinks those little shroomy things poisoned her, Luckily saving her from being eaten by the big dog-lizard things. soooo who thinks im wrong? lol.
April 4th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
All hail the Hypnotoad. All hail the Hypnotoad. All hail the Hypnotoad. All hail the Hypnotoad.
April 5th, 2008 at 12:13 am
Argh, this cliffhanger stuff …
Hmm, literally a cliffhanger. It can’t be good for the blood pressure of the collected readership of this strip. Nor for that of our heroine.
I’m hoping Mr. Bo shows up soon with a posse. When you are unconscious and surrounded by wild dogosaurs on one end, poison plants on the other, it’s a little hard to fight your own fights.
Carry on! We’ll keep reading, no matter what happens with the timing of the updates. And the Facebook connection does a good job of telling me when another one’s up, BTW. Thanks for that!
April 6th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
Thanks for the updates! Your art and style is amazing. Keep up the great work!
April 7th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
I just wanted to say that I really love this comic. The art is amazing and I’ve suscribed to both strips for a while now. It’s worth the wait when you’re on hiatus. Keep up the work. Your work is just beautiful!
April 8th, 2008 at 7:50 am
When I wrap my tongue around a girls legs like that, I nearly ALWAYS get arrested.
April 8th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Pretty pages. Can’t wait to see what happens!
And I must express that I like the Tweet status box there on the right ^^ A nice way to keep us posted
April 8th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Hey there Ramon! My first post here. Got a tip from Scott Sava at The Dreamland Chronicles. Read it all right off. Beautiful art - love it! And the story too.
But as with any really really good web comic, reading so many pages in a sweep is addictive - I NEED MORE! So will you get this week’s update done already - its already Wednesday over here!

I need my fix!
J/K, keep up the good work - I read of your sore throat.
April 9th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Holy cow! I’ve just read this comic today… Also first post here. But sweet rice wine this is an AWESOME COMIC! *does his fanboy impression as his sister geeks out over the cute little Mr. BoJangles* -cough- ANYways, just wanted to say that this comic is the best psychadelic headtrip I’ve ever been on!
